Matias Pacheco, a Brooklyn native with an eye for innovation and a penchant for all things digital, currently serves as the Assistant Director of Technology Services at The Museum of Modern Art. With over 24 years of dedicated service under his belt, Matias has managed to blend the worlds of art and technology in ways that would make even Picasso proud—but probably not as messy.

Having graduated from the esteemed University of Utah, he possesses not just a degree but an insatiable curiosity that fuels his drive to push boundaries. Often seen dashing between exhibitions and tech meetings, Matias is known for turning mundane tech challenges into aesthetic masterpieces—think Steve Jobs meets Jackson Pollock.

Before stepping into his current role in July 2023, he spent nearly 23 years as Senior Manager of Technology Services at MoMA, where he transformed the museum"s technological landscape while somehow mastering the art of dodging paint splatters during installation weeks. His colleagues often joke that if you need something fixed or an app updated, just whisper "Matias" three times in front of a server room.

Outside work hours, Matias enjoys exploring Brooklyn’s vibrant arts scene or attempting to recreate famous artworks with household items (his “Mona Lisa” made entirely out of cereal was met with mixed reviews). With an infectious enthusiasm for both art and technology, Matias Pacheco continues to inspire those around him—one pixel at a time.
